Still Moon Arts Society inspires vibrant and connected communities by creating artistic experiences and nurturing a passion for nature.

Our belief in the power of artistic experiences to move and engage people guides us as we bring together art, environment, and community in East Vancouver, with specific focus on the Renfrew-Collingwood neighbourhood and Still Creek watershed.

Since 2004, we have used art to raise awareness and bring about positive change by mobilizing the local community to restore the Renfrew Ravine from a neglected dumping ground to a place of natural beauty, and educational opportunities.

Still Creek Salmon Spotting

The salmon are back! Salmon have already been spotted at Cornett Road behind the Rupert Street Canadian Tire.

We invite you to head down to Still Creek to witness the majestic salmons’ return. By doing so, you can help us gather information about the health of Still Creek salmon and their habitat.

We’ve mapped out the spots along Still Creek where you’re most likely to see returning salmon. Plan a visit and email us to let us know what you saw.

Natural Dye Batik Workshop with Bernarda Antony

Join us for a meditative, hands-on workshop to learn about the art of batik. This introductory-level workshop will walk you through the basics of how to use a canting, a traditional pen-like tool used to design batik tulis or “handwritten” batik. You’ll also learn about specific batik patterns and the history of how fabric can be used as a form of storytelling. After creating your design on a large cotton handkerchief, you will dye it indigo, a natural plant dye.
