Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Moon Festival free to attend?

All events are free and do not require tickets or registration with the exception of the workshops which require pre-registration. Workshop fees cover material costs for you to make and bring home your handmade item. Fees can be found in the workshop description on our Events page.

We prioritize making the festival accessible to everyone. Our festival occurs outdoors in the natural beauty of the Renfrew Ravine and surrounding area. Certain site locations may have uneven walkways or steeper slopes. Please see site-specific accessibility information for the event you’re planning to attend in the Events page. There will be volunteers at entry points and at the information booth to assist with wayfinding.

For any questions or concerns regarding accessibility please contact the festival Production Manager, Karen La at

Our main events happen at Slocan Park and Renfrew Community Park and the surrounding area. Please see the Events page for transportation to each event and view the sitemap for details. The festival is largely accessible by public transit. Parking is limited—we encourage walking, riding bikes, or carpooling to the festival when possible.

Do I need to register if I want to attend an event?

You are only required to pre-register for the Free-Form Lantern Workshop, Mooncake Workshop, Harvest Workshop Series and Drop Spindling with Sharon Kallis. All other events are open events. Registration can be found in the event on our Events page.

What do I do if an event I want to register for is full?

If there are no more spots for an event, please sign up for the waitlist, which you will find on the Eventbrite page. You will be notified by email if a spot opens up. Please contact Saige Patti at for any questions or concerns.

How will you ensure that the Moon Festival events are safe to attend?

All events (with the exception of the Free-Form Lantern Workshop) will take place outdoors. First Aid and fire safety marshals are present on main event days.

We continue to follow and monitor the City of Vancouver’s guidelines around COVID-19. Please remain at home if you are feeling sick, or if you or someone who you have been in contact with has experienced COVID-19 symptoms in the previous 2 weeks. Hand sanitizer will be provided for use at all events with hands-on activities.

How can I participate if I am unable to attend in person?

Follow us on social media and sign up for our newsletter. We will share festival highlights and link our subscribers to the artists and organizations that are involved with Still Moon. In addition, we send monthly newsletters that list our Eco-arts and Stewardship Program Events.

How can I perform or display my artwork at the Festival?

Artist and performer recruitment happens in the summer. Keep an eye on our website and social media for our artist callout for next year!
