Wednesdays, 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm @ The Alder Eco-Arts Hub

In our summer series, we will work with locally harvested plants to explore a variety of natural dye techniques. Participants will learn about how and when to collect plant materials, experiment with mordanting methods, and become familiar with different fibres. Materials will be provided and you will take home the work you make. You will also be given worksheets and resources to continue your dye exploration at home. All skill levels are welcome.

Workshops are taking place on the following dates, from 6:00-8:30pm:

Dates:

July 15th – Bundle Dyeing

July 29th – Silk Immersion

August 12th – Dyeing with Cotton

August 26th – Colour Modifying and Mixing

Each class costs $50 to cover materials and instruction, or sign up for all four classes for $190. Registration is mandatory – please sign up through our Eventbrite form below. If you would like to attend multiple classes, you may purchase multiple tickets on the registration form. If you are attending all four classes, please select “July 15th” when the form asks you to choose a date.

COVID-19 Safety:

A non-medical mask or face covering is encouraged, but not required. We will have hand sanitizer available on site. We encourage you to wash your hands before you arrive and after you leave. Classes will take place outside under a covered area.

Location:

All natural dye classes will be held outside the Alder Eco-Arts Hub (2750 East 29th Avenue) by Slocan Park and the 29th Avenue Skytrain Station.

Workshop Fee:

As is a non-profit organization, Still Moon Arts charges based on the part of the work that we offer. With that in mind, we will not exclude people due to unaffordability or cost. We will offer a sliding scale for participants who are unable to absorb the full cost of the workshop. Please contact us if this is the case and we can discuss what is reasonable for you. We greatly appreciate these funds that go towards supporting this program and furthering non-cost programs that Still Moon Arts runs.

Refund Policy:

If you would like to cancel your attendance at an upcoming class, we will offer you a refund, provided that you inform us at least one day prior to the scheduled workshop. Please note that the Eventbrite processing fee is non-refundable, and we do not have control over this part of the fee.

If you have any questions about this event series, please contact Sierra Megas, Programs Manager at sierra@stillmoonarts.ca.
