If you’re between 15 & 19 years old, you can register for the 2026 Youth Committee, meeting weekly in July & August. Sign up here.

Still Moon’s Connect Program links youth to their environment, artistic creativity and one another. This program is FREE and we’ll even provide snacks, bus tickets, and an honorarium to make it easier for you to participate.

Each Connect series engages in a different set of activities depending on the season and artistic opportunities available at the time. The upcoming April 2026 five-part workshop series will be led by Sesemiya (Tracy Cameron), a fifth generation cedar weaver and member of the Squamish Nation. You’ll:

  • Learn about cultural traditions of cedar weaving
  • Explore your relationship with water
  • Take home a small cedar creation of your own
  • Support in making a traditional Coast Salish fishing basket that will be carried by Water Woman, a giant puppet being created for the 2026 Renfrew Ravine Moon Festival.
  • Develop a sense of community belonging through art, ecology, and culture.

This series is open to all youth ages 14 to 25, with first priority given to Indigenous youth and after that priority to youth from othe underserved groups, including individuals who self-identify as low-income, People of Colour,  2SLGBTQIA+ individuals, refugees & newcomers, and folks with disabilities.

About the Facilitator

For more than twenty years, Sesemiya (Tracy Cameron) has been engaged with the revitalization of Coast Salish cultural practices. Through research, collaborative experimentation and consultation with Knowledge Keepers, Sesemiya’s work embodies her deep knowledge of Coast Salish lands. A fifth-generation cedar weaver, the objects she makes extend directly from her practice of gathering and preparing wild materials.

Sesemiya (Tracy Cameron) is a knowledge seeker, dreamer, water protector, land defender, lover, mother, auntie, weaver, and cultural practitioner. Her rich relationships with plants, animals, land, and water have taken her to the tops of mountains, the bottom of the ocean, fields of fireweed, and occasionally art galleries.

Sesemiya is a proud member of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) Nation.
