January 27, 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm @ Slocan Community Hall

This event is offered as part of the Still Creek Streamkeepers Talk Series. Click here to see the list of talks scheduled for the year.

In November 2019, Vancouver city council approved the Rain City Strategy, a comprehensive plan for rainwater management in Vancouver with three primary goals: Improve and protect Vancouver’s water quality; Increase Vancouver’s resilience through sustainable water management; and Enhance Vancouver’s livability by improving natural and urban ecosystems. The Still Creek Streamkeepers have invited Melina Scholefield, one of the report’s authors and advocates to share some key pieces of this report, how it will be implemented by the City of Vancouver, and what we as citizens and streamkeepers need to know about it.

You can read more about the report, and the report itself here: https://vancouver.ca/home-property-development/one-water.aspx

If you are interested in learning about the Streamkeepers, you are welcome to arrive at 6:30pm (30 minutes before the event) for our monthly meeting.

This event is part of a series of educational talks hosted by the Still Creek Streamkeepers. Every month, we will invite speakers who are doing work related to streams, wildlife, stewardship, water quality, salmon and more to give presentations. Everyone is welcome! We will be announcing the speakers for upcoming months periodically, stay tuned on the Still Creek Streamkeepers page or get on our email list by getting in touch with us at streamkeepers@stillmoonarts.ca.
