Still Moon is seeking artists for the 19th Annual Renfrew Ravine Moon Festival this September! For 18 years, the Moon Festival has celebrated the full moon, Autumnal Equinox, and Renfrew-Collingwood’s diverse community and natural environment through interdisciplinary arts events. This year, we are recruiting performers for the Harvest Fair and installation artists for the Streamside Lantern Installation. If either of these sound like they might be you, read on to find out how you can get involved!

This year, our Festival’s theme is “balancing”. The COVID-19 pandemic made ever more apparent the failures of our society to support our communities and our natural environment. As we collectively heal and grow from this challenging year and a half and work together to envision new possibilities, the Still Moon team wanted to be guided by the intention of rediscovering balance with each other and our environment.

We encourage applicants from a variety of backgrounds who reflect the diverse Renfrew-Collingwood community, including visible minorities, persons with disabilities, newcomers, BIPOC, and LGBTQAI2s+ folks. Diversity of artists is important to us, so please let us know if this is you. Artists will be paid industry-standard rates for their work ranging from $200-$500 depending on work provided.

Harvest Fair (Sun) Sept. 12th 4pm-7pm

This family-friendly fair at Slocan Park marks the beginning of the Renfrew Ravine Moon Festival. Attendees can play games, make crafts, enjoy performances by local musicians and performers, eat delicious food, and engage with community organizations. The popular Harvest Fair competition allows neighbours to bring their best homegrown produce to win community prizes.

If you are a local musician, dance group, or other kind of performer that would fit well with this event, we’d love to hear from you! Performers will be compensated with honoraria and performance times will range from 20-35 minutes each.

To be considered for the Harvest Fair, please send the following information to madelyn@stillmoonarts.ca by Sunday, July 18th at 9pm.

  1. Name, Phone Number, Email, Website (if applicable)
  2. What is your relationship to the Renfrew-Collingwood Community and the Moon Festival?
  3. What is your style of performance? How does this fit within the Harvest Fair event and Moon Festival theme?
  4. Include at least one video sample of your performance. You may also include up to 4 additional samples of your work if you wish (e.g. audio files, photos)
