About

Still Moon Youth Committee is a group of youth aged 15-22 who engage in community art, stewardship and outreach activities based on the committee’s interests. The committee members play a key role in engaging with other youth in the community around Still Moon’s values. They are active year round, meeting monthly, and receiving support from the Youth Programs Manager and Artistic Director. The youth gain leadership skills and get hands-on experience in community engagement and event management.

Harvest Fair

Each year, the Youth Committee organizes the Harvest Fair at the Renfrew Ravine Moon Festival. The Harvest Fair takes place in the afternoon at Slocan Park, and marks the beginning of our signature event. The youth organize vendors, performers and musicians, prizes donated by community businesses, and other event logistics. Planning for the Harvest Fair begins in the early summer and continues up until the event date, coordinating with the Moon Festival team and volunteers along the way.

Community Workshops and Events

Throughout the year, the Youth Committee organizes events of their own, with the goal of engaging both youth and members of the general public. Some of these events have included: a community barbeque, fundraisers, and various art workshops facilitated by local artists. Check out the photos below to see some of the events the Youth Committee has been involved in over the years!
