Still Moon Arts Society inspires vibrant and connected communities by creating artistic experiences and nurturing a passion for nature.

Our belief in the power of artistic experiences to move and engage people guides us as we bring together art, environment, and community in East Vancouver, with a specific focus on the Renfrew-Collingwood neighbourhood and Still Creek watershed.

Starting in 2004, we’ve used art to raise awareness and bring about positive change by inspiring & mobilizing the local community to restore Still Creek’s Renfrew Ravine from a neglected dumping ground to a place of natural beauty and educational opportunities.

Over the years, we’ve created dozens of community-engaged eco-art projects; hosted over 20 editions of the ‘Renfrew Ravine Moon Festival,’ an annual celebration of community, art and nature; led hundreds of accessible community art and nature workshops; and expanded our stewardship work to encompass much of the Still Creek Watershed (we are home to the Still Creek Streamkeepers).

Water Woman Remembers

Join us to celebrate World Water Day and contribute to a collaborative artwork.

Sip tea and join in a conversation about our relationship with water. Explore your creativity and take part in a natural dyeing experience using indigo plants.

We’ll work together to create a dress for a giant puppet named “Water Woman”. Each person will use melted wax to decorate part of the dress and dip it in indigo to make the image visible. The finished dress will be a vibrant tapestry of our collective stories and wishes for water.

Renfrew Ravine Crossing – Ivy Haul

Help us steward the 27th Ave Crossing over Still Creek by removing invasive species like English ivy & holly. These species cover nearly 90% of the area. No experience needed — we’ll provide tools, gloves, and guidance for invasive removal. Just bring yourself, rain gear, and water!

This event is at Renfrew Ravine Park.

This event was moved from March 9, due to the atmospheric river event.
